THE ALEXANDER MOSLEY CHARITABLE TRUST

The AMCT was set up in 2011 by Max Mosley to commemorate his son Alexander Mosley who died aged 39 in 2009.

The Trust aims to have a proactive approach to awarding grants.  This means that it does not respond to unsolicited grant applications.

Over the years the various projects we have supported have been diverse.  They include scientific research, such as the Clarendon physics laboratory and a chair in biophysics at Oxford University, funding for Imperial College’s research into depression, work on worldwide road safety, as well as charities campaigning for the environment, for justice, and supporting mental health and young people.

The Trust is pleased to be able to provide grants for work in areas that other organisations may find difficult to support.  One of the first grants made by the trust, was the grant to Imperial College to use brain imaging to assess the therapeutic potential of psylocibin in the treatment of depression.  We plan to continue to support this line of research, alongside work with several mental health and environmental charities.

Our annual reports with the complete list of charities we awarded grants to are available on the charities commission website.
